First Update from Haiti

First day of work went very well.
I calculated that we lifted between 17-19 tons of weight(ie 34,000-38,000 lbs)
that's each one of us, handling buckets on the line removal
out of the "Pit". Certainly exceeds my personal best for weights in a day!
The weather was actually quite benign, slight N wind, never exceeded 110 F
heat index ((116 expected on Tues). Just enough to melt the soles of both my LL Bean hiking/
work boots.

Group ( monickered Pit Bulls) bonding fast & developing "espirit".
The Haitians a complete delight.

Summation:
participatory philanthropy stock + 2 tbs of altruism +
4 cups of hard physical labor + dash of grueling weather =
success recipe.

Accommodations & spirit @ St Joseph's top of line,
despite no running water & sporadic electricity,
far exceeding expectations.

I should have a fuller report + pics by tommorrow.
It's 8 PM .
Turning in
The party animals went to Jacmel
